About Me

Hello! Thanks for stopping by to learn more about me! I hope you are able to find a thing or two while you're here. I am a 3rd grade teacher in Minnesota.  It is my mission to provide my students (and yours!) with quality instruction and activities that are standards-based. That's why I'm here! My motto is Simple, Smart, Standards-Based, and you'll see that's really what I'm all about.

You can read more about my goals for this TPT and blogging adventure in my very first post!

I am a wife to my husband, Jeremy, and a mother to my baby girl, Nora. I adore both of them tremendously. They rock my world. We have an Australian Shepherd named Jasper who is good for many laughs and lots of love.

I grew up north of the Twin Cities on a little hobby farm with my Mom, Dad, and two younger siblings where we rode horses and raised ducks (for fun, not food!)

After graduating from high school I went to NDSU to pursue two other majors before finally deciding on Elementary Education. I was picky, but finally found something that fit me. I married my sweetheart with one year left in school and commuted between Fargo, ND and Anoka, MN to see him.

After graduating, the search for a teaching job commenced and I was determined to begin the next school year as a full-time teacher. I taught math and reading intervention for two years in a nearby district. That's why you'll find that most of my resources tend toward small group instruction, centers, and the like. I enjoyed teaching small groups, but my heart was set on a classroom. So, after two years I set out to find my dream job. I did! I truly couldn't be happier than I am now. I know they say you can't have it all, but I feel like I really, truly do. An amazing God. A loving husband. A beautiful little girl. A goofball of a dog. And 25 third graders I get to spend each day with (and they even laugh at my jokes - usually).

Well, I guess that's me! Thanks for reading. I hope you'll pop by often to see what's new and join me along the way!
